(KSDK Sports) - One of the first things former Cardinals manager Tony La Russa told Mike Matheny was make sure you have a good speech ready for the the team on the first day of full squad workouts at Spring Training.

To La Russa, that pre-camp speech is so important, because it sets the tone of the pre-season as well as the regular season.

Cameras have never been allowed inside the clubhouse when the speech is given, but we were able to gather reaction to it today.
