'Stan Musial Day' proposed by Rep. Dwight Kay

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (KSDK) - A lawmaker from Edwardsville, Illinois is sponsoring a new honor for the late Stan Musial.

The Cardinals Hall of Famer passed away on January 19 at the age of 92.

Now, State Representative Dwight Kay wants to make January 19 Stan Musial Day in Illinois. The day would honor Musial's 22 years with the Cardinals, his military service, and his active role in the local community.

The proposal was introduced last week, and is now in committee.
