Shelby Miller will start the season in the Cards' rotation
ST. LOUIS (KSDK Sports) - The competition for the fifth spot in the Cardinals' rotation has ended. The Cardinals have announced that Shelby Miller will join the starting rotation. Miller entered Spring Training in a competition with Joe Kelly and Trevor Rosenthal for the spot.
Miller was 2-0 with a 3.94 ERA in 16 innings this spring. He struck out 13 and walked 5.
Kelly started 16 games for the Cards last season and was 4-6 with a 3.74 ERA. He will move to the bullpen where he made eight appearances last year.
