(KSDK Sports) -- The St. Louis Billikens baseball team is off to a 5-1 start in conference play and part of their success hinges on a group of four freshman and they're all from St. Louis.
Young and inexperienced doesn't often mix. At SLU it's the way they build a team. This year there's a definite presence
Braxton Martinez starts at third. Michael Bozarth in left field. Josh Moore is a starting pitcher and Jake Henson is the backup at catcher. A group that grew up competing against each other is now SLU's future.
Almost half of school's baseball roster is made up of kids from St. Louis. This latest group of talented freshman committed because coach Darin Hendrickson revived the program.
Hendrickson laid the foundation and this group of freshmen are part of sustaining it.
