ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The St. Louis Blues released its 2013-14 season schedule Friday afternoon. After five preseason games, the Blues kick off the season at home Thursday, October 3 against the Nashville Predators.
The Note will face-off against the reigning Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks Wednesday, October 9 on home ice. The Blues play the Blackhawks five times this upcoming season, four times at Scottrade Center and once in Chicago. The Blues will play eight home games in the month of October.
St. Louis will try to avenge their loss to the Los Angeles Kings in the first-round of the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs on December 2.
Former Blues' winger David Perron, who was traded to the Edmonton Oilers in early July, will return to town on March 13. Chaminade Alum and former Blue goalie Ben Bishop, currently playing for the Tampa Bay Lightning, will return to his hometown on March 4.
The NHL will take an Olympic break starting February 9, 2013. Play will resume February 26.
The Detroit Red Wings' only visit to St. Louis will be on April 13, the final game of the season.
Of the 39 home games, 66 percent of them will take place on Thursday (12), Friday (1), Saturday (13) and Sunday (1).
The Blues will get plenty of national attention, playing on the NBC Sports Network 13 times and making one appearance on the NHL Network.
