ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The 47-year Stanley Cup drought will end for the St. Louis Blues this season - that is, if video game simulations are to be believed.
EA SPORTS, makers of NHL 14, simulated the entire upcoming season before the puck officially drops.
The result? Alex Pietrangelo will hoist the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player of the postseason as the Blues beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-2 in the Stanley Cup Finals.
The Blues are predicted to finish second in the Western Conference's Central Division behind the Chicago Blackhawks. However, the Blues will have the last laugh according to the sim, defeating the Blackhawks in 6 games in the Western Conference Finals.
