Florida Bound
I'm going to experience something a little different beginning tomorrow. I will be going to Camp Cardinals for four days, and it's the first time I will see spring training with games actually being played.
I am looking forward to several things, not the least of which is seeing actual baseball. You see, the times I've gone in years past have been the first few days of camp--it'll be nice to see more than live b-p, the ol' "pitcher covers first base on a ground ball to the right side" exercise, and the morning calisthenics. The players all look bored doing it, so I don't feel the need to apologize for being bored watching it. I'll be going down with Frank Cusumano and photojournalist Tom Stasiak to gather material for our preseason special, and for Sports Plus. I hope to see for I'll try to check in every day with some quick thoughts and observations, when I'm not being treated for extreme sunburn. (Don't hog the sunblock, Frank!) Until then...
