Durham, NC (Sports Network) - Mason Plumlee recorded a double-double with 19
points and 14 rebounds on Friday night, as No. 8 Duke opened its season with a
74-55 triumph over Georgia State at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Plumlee also blocked four shots, while Seth Curry added 15 points and Tyler
Thornton netted 13 points for the Blue Devils (1-0), who were coming off a 27-
win season that ended in disappointment, as they were upset by 15th-seeded
Lehigh in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Blue Devils have now won 95 straight non-conference home games, the
longest such streak in the nation.
Devonta White paced the Panthers (0-1) with 19 points and freshman R.J.
Hunter, whose father, Ron is the Panthers' head coach, added 14 points and 10
boards for a Georgia State squad that won 22 games last season.
