Richmond, VA (Sports Network) - Darien Brothers scored a game-high 21 points
to help lift the Richmond Spiders to a 101-58 over the UNC Wilmington Seahawks
at Robins Center.
Brothers shot 7-of-11 from the floor, including 3-for-6 from beyond the arc
for the Spiders (2-0). Derrick Williams tallied 15 points, and Kendall Anthony
and Wayne Sparrow came off the bench to score 17 and 13, respectively.
Keith Rendleman recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds for
the Seahawks (1-1), but no other player scored in double figures.
Richmond took an early lead and didn't look back, outscoring the Seahawks
51-31 in the first half. It shot 56 percent from the field in the opening
frame.
The Spiders kept on the gas pedal in the second half by draining 18-of-30 from
the field after intermission.
UNCW lost despite a percent night from the free throw line (19-of-19).
