Mount Pleasant, MI (Sports Network) - Tyshon Pickett and Jordan Prosser each
scored 17 points to lead the Bradley Braves to an 82-65 victory over the
Central Michigan Chippewas in a non-conference tilt at McGuirk Arena.
For the Braves (5-1), Walt Lemon, Jr. and Dyricus Simms-Edwards each finished
with 14 points, Jake Eastman scored 12 and Will Egolf pulled down 10
rebounds.
Kyle Randall led all scorers with 21 points for the Chippewas (3-3),
converting all nine of his free-throw attempts.
Bradley shot 45 percent from the field in the first half, although it did miss
all eight attempts from three-point range, en route to a 40-29 advantage at
the break. Central Michigan shot only 37 percent, but connected on 5-of-11
from behind the three-point arc.
After intermission the Braves heated up from the floor, converting a sizzling
66.7 percent of
their field goals. They were able to hold the Chippewas to just 34.1 percent
shooting from the field, including 3-of-13 from three-point distance. Bradley
led by as many as 19 points in the second half as it coasted to the easy
victory.
The Braves, who forced 18 turnovers, completely dominated in the paint,
outscoring the Chippewas 66-24.
