Davidson, NC (Sports Network) - Pierria Henry accounted for four points in the
final 30 seconds as the Charlotte 49ers defeated the Davidson Wildcats, 73-69,
at Belk Arena.
Henry scored 11 points and was two rebounds shy of a double-double for the
49ers (8-0) as they remained undefeated. Darion Clark scored 14 points and
came away with nine rebounds, while Chris Braswell and Willie Clayton
contributed 15 and 12 points, respectively.
For the Wildcats (4-4), Jake Cohen had a team-high 15 points. De'Mon Brooks
scored 13 points and cleared eight boards, followed by Tom Droney and
Nik Cochran who chipped in 14 and 12 points, respectively.
Davidson shot well to open the contest, connecting on 48.1 percent of its
field goal attempts, as the Wildcats led at the break, 33-29. The Wildcats
held the 49ers to 13-of-30 shooting from the floor in the first half.
After the break, the 49ers found their stroke, draining 15-of-29 from the
floor. The Wildcats stayed the same, making 50 percent of their field goals,
adding 14-of-19 shooting at the free-throw line, but that still wasn't enough
to prevent the loss.
