Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Manny Arop and Jake Odum scored 18 points
apiece to lead the Indiana State Sycamores to a 75-61 victory over the IUPUI
Jaguars in a non-conference tilt at The Jungle.
Arop hauled in nine rebounds and Odum grabbed eight boards for Indiana State
(5-3), which snapped a two-game losing skid. R.J. Mahurin had 12 points, and
Khristian Smith added 10 points from off the bench.
For IUPUI (4-9), Jordan Shanklin shot 7-of-10 from the field for a game-high
19 points, while Donovan Gibbs and Mitchell Patton each put up 12 points.
Indiana State jumped out to a 12-point lead six minutes into the first half,
and while a 15-4 run by IUPUI got the game closer, the Sycamores still took a
36-30 lead into intermission.
The Sycamores shot 52 percent from the floor after halftime as they coasted to
victory, leading by as many as 18 points.
Indiana State held a decisive advantage on the boards, outrebounding IUPUI by
a 40-25 margin.
