Little Rock, AR (Sports Network) - Raheem Appleby recorded a game-high 17
points as the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs held on to defeat the Arkansas-Little
Rock Trojans, 75-73, at Jack Stephens Center.
Appleby shot 6-of-14 from the floor for the Bulldogs (9-3), and he was
joined in double figures by Alex Hamilton, who added 14 points. Michale Kyser
logged eight points and 10 rebounds in the triumph.
For the Trojans (8-5), John Gillon scored 15 points and Leroy Isler had 11
points.
Louisiana Tech led by as many as nine points early in the first half, but
UALR climbed back to take a 42-39 lead at the break. The Trojans shot 46.7
percent from the floor in the opening frame, including 4-of-10 from three-
point range.
With the game tied at 69-69 with just over two minutes left to play, Kenyon
McNeail drained a three-pointer to give Louisiana Tech the lead, which proved
the be the game-winning bucket. The Bulldogs were aided by an impressive
showing from the charity stripe after halftime (20-of-25).
Louisiana Tech dominated on the glass, 45-33, and it held the hosts to only 5-
of-15 shooting from beyond the arc on the night.
