Honolulu, HI (Sports Network) - Murphy Holloway tallied a double-double with
23 points and 13 rebounds as the Ole Miss Rebels overcame a first half deficit
to defeat the San Francisco Dons, 85-78, in a consolation matchup of the
Diamond Head Classic at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Ole Miss (9-2) will now play the winner of the East Tennessee State/Hawaii
matchup on Tuesday in the fifth-place game, while San Francisco (5-6) will
face off with the loser in the seventh-place matchup.
Nick Williams scored 18 points for the Rebels, while Marshall Henderson netted
12 points and Jarvis Summers had 11 points.
For the Dons, Cody Doolin tallied 20 points, eight assists, and seven
rebounds. De'End Parker chipped in 17 points, and Cole Dickerson put up 14
points.
San Francisco led by as many as 13 in the first half, but Ole Miss climbed
back to make its deficit just five, 38-33, at halftime.
The second half saw two ties and four lead changes in the first 12 minutes
before a Williams' 3-pointer gave the Rebels a 64-62 advantage, a lead they
would not surrender the rest of the way.
San Francisco outshot Ole Miss from the floor, 50.9 percent to 45.6 percent,
but the Rebels held a 24-15 advantage at the foul line.
