Oxford, OH (Sports Network) - Aksel Bolin scored a team-high 11 points as the
Northern Illinois Huskies defeated the Miami-Ohio RedHawks, 72-61, in Mid-
American Conference play at Millett Hall.
Bolin was 2-of-3 from beyond the arc off the bench in the Huskies' (3-10, 1-0
MAC) victory. Darrell Bowie and Abdel Nader scored 10 points each as Northern
Illinois snapped a five-game losing streak.
For the RedHawks (5-8, 0-1), Will Felder scored a game-high 15 points and
Reggie Johnson recorded 12 points. Allen Roberts chipped in 11 points as
Miami-Ohio lost its second straight game.
The first half ended with the game tied, 28-28. Northern Illinois made 5-
of-7 from long range, while Miami-Ohio shot 11-of-21 from the floor in the
opening 20 minutes.
Northern Illinois went off in the second half, connecting on 12-of-19 from the
field, including 4-of-6 from long range, to pull away.
Northern Illinois shot 21-of-26 from the free throw line, while Miami-Ohio
struggled at the stripe, going just 13-of-22.
