Corvallis, OR (Sports Network) - Carrick Felix had a double-double of 18
points and 14 rebounds as the Arizona State Sun Devils earned a 72-62 victory
over the Oregon State Beavers in a Pac-12 conference bout at Gill Coliseum.
Jahii Carson had a game-high 20 points for Arizona State (14-2, 3-0 Pac-12),
Jonathan Gilling notched 14 points and Jordan Bachynski had 10 points, nine
rebounds and four blocks. The Sun Devils have now won six straight.
Devon Collier paced Oregon State (10-5, 0-2) with 18 points while Ahmad
Starks added 10 and Jarmal Reid brought in 11 rebounds. The Beavers have lost
three of their last four.
Arizona State led 36-30 at halftime after shooting 40 percent from the floor
including a 4-of-12 effort from beyond the arc. Oregon State lagged behind by
hitting just 36.4 percent of its field goal attempts including misses on 9-of
-10 shots from 3-point range.
In the second half the Sun Devils improved to 48.4 percent shooting which was
more than enough to earn the victory over the Beavers who shot 38.5 percent
in the final 20 minutes.
Arizona State outscored Oregon State 40-28 on points in the paint and had a
49-35 edge in rebounds.
