Columbia, SC (Sports Network) - Kyle Fuller netted 12 points off the bench to
lead the Vanderbilt Commodores to a 58-51 road victory over the South Carolina
Gamecocks in an SEC bout at Colonial Life Arena.
Dai-Jon Parker scored 11 points while Kedren Johnson added eight rebounds and
four assists for Vanderbilt (7-9, 1-3 SEC), which snapped a three-game losing
skid.
Brenton Williams led the Gamecocks (11-6, 1-3) with 16 points off the bench.
Lakeem Jackson brought down a game-high 10 boards.
Vanderbilt held the Gamecocks to just 5-of-29 shooting in the opening period
but only led by five after turning it over 10 times. The Commodores led 24-19
at the break.
The shooting woes continued in the second half for South Carolina, which
improved from the first half but still only managed 30 percent shooting and
2-of-11 from 3-point range.
Vanderbilt coughed up the ball 18 times while forcing just seven South
Carolina turnovers but still managed to come away with the win.
