Charleston, SC (Sports Network) - Willis Hall shot 7-of-8 from the field for
14 points to help lead the College of Charleston Cougars past The Citadel
Bulldogs, 69-54, in Southern Conference action at TD Arena.
Andrew Lawrence scored 12 points and Anthony Stitt added 10 points for
Charleston (13-7, 5-3 SoCon), which snapped a two-game losing skid. Adjehi
Baru ripped down 12 rebounds for the home team.
Mike Groselle tallied 17 points and nine rebounds as The Citadel (4-14, 1-7)
lost for the 13th time in its last 14 games.
Neither team shot greater than 39 percent from the field in the first half,
but Charleston gained extra possessions by winning the rebounding battle,
24-14, and it took a 31-24 advantage into intermission.
The Cougars' field goal efficiency improved to 50 percent after the break, and
the Bulldogs never got closer than eight points of the lead in the final 20
minutes.
Charleston shot 14-of-21 from the foul line on the night, while The Citadel
was just 4-of-6 from the stripe.
