Murfreesboro, TN (Sports Network) - Neiko Hunter scored 17 points off the
bench to help lead the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders to a 73-60 win over the
Arkansas State Red Wolves in Sun Belt Conference action at the Murphy Center.
Marcos Knight added a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds for Middle
Tennessee (21-4, 13-1 Sun Belt), which extended its season-long winning streak
to 10 games.
For Arkansas State (14-9, 8-6), Cameron Golden netted 15 points and Marcus
Hooten chipped in 10 points. The Red Wolves had been winners of three in a row
prior to the setback.
Middle Tennessee outshot Arkansas State from the field in the first half, 56
percent to 30.4 percent, as it took a 34-21 lead into intermission.
The Blue Raiders opened the second half on a 22-4 run to extend their lead to
as many as 31. The Red Wolves chipped away at the deficit down the stretch,
but Middle Tennessee's advantage was never in doubt.
Middle Tennessee outscored Arkansas State in the paint, 44-20.
