Chattanooga, TN (Sports Network) - Gee McGhee netted 16 points to lead the
Chattanooga Mocs to an 83-49 rout of the Furman Paladins in a Southern
Conference matchup at McKenzie Arena.
Eric Robertson and Farad Cobb came off the bench and scored 14 and 12 points,
respectively, as Chattanooga (11-15, 6-7 SoCon) won its second consecutive
game.
Colin Reddick and Stephen Croone dropped 12 points apiece for Furman (6-18,
3-10) while Bryant Irwin added 10 points off the bench.
Chattanooga jumped out to a 15-7 edge early on behind McGhee, who had 10
first-half points on 4-of-7 shooting. The Mocs forced 10 Furman turnovers in
the opening period and led 39-27 at halftime.
After Reddick opened the scoring in the second period with a jumper,
Chattanooga ran off the next eight points and held the Paladins without a
point from the 10:13 mark until there was 4:28 remaining in the contest.
Chattanooga won the rebounding battle, 48-32, and had 41 bench points.
