Columbia, SC (Sports Network) - Johnny O'Bryant III scored a career-high 30
points to go along with 10 rebounds to lead the LSU Tigers to a 64-46 road win
over the South Carolina Gamecocks in an SEC showdown at Colonial Life Arena.
Andre Stringer netted 12 points for LSU (14-8, 5-6 SEC) as Charles Carmouche
contributed nine rebounds and eight assists.
Lakeem Jackson had 10 points and seven rebounds as South Carolina (12-12, 2-9)
dropped its fifth consecutive game.
LSU was held scoreless until O'Bryant got the team going with a jumper after
the first media timeout. He finished with 13 points in a sloppy period in
which both teams combined for 19 turnovers. LSU held the Gamecocks to 28.1
percent from the floor in the first half and led 26-24 at the break.
The visiting Tigers extended their lead to 52-35 after Stringer fueled a 13-3
LSU run with a jumper and consecutive 3-pointers. They shot 53.6 percent in
the half.
LSU outrebounded USC, 49-34, and improved to 14-12 all-time against the
Gamecocks.
