Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - C.J. Wilcox delivered 24 points as the
Washington Huskies registered a 72-62 win over the Oregon State Beavers
in Pac-12 Conference play at Alaska Airlines Arena.
Also scoring in double figures for the Huskies (14-12, 6-7 Pac-12) were Andrew
Andrews and Shawn Kemp Jr. with 11 and 10 points, respectively, as the team
snapped a three-game slide.
The Beavers (13-13, 3-10) were paced by Roberto Nelson who tallied 19 points,
but he did so with a mere 3-of-16 shooting from the floor as the squad bowed
for the second time in the last three outings. Joe Burton tacked on 10 points
for the visitors.
The teams remained close throughout the first half, but thanks to a 4-of-9
showing behind the 3-point line, OSU was able to pull out for a 34-32
advantage at the break.
In the second half it wasn't long before the Huskies assumed control, shooting
an impressive 51.9 percent from the floor while also holding the visitors to
just seven made field goals, en route to the double-digit decision.
Washington shot an even 50 percent from the floor in order to offset 19
turnovers on the night.
