Athens, OH (Sports Network) - Reggie Keely shot 8-of-12 from the floor for a
game-high 20 points as the Ohio University Bobcats made easy work of the
Eastern Michigan Eagles, 73-50, in Mid-American Conference action at the
Convocation Center.
D.J. Cooper tallied 16 points, 10 assists and five steals for Ohio (20-6, 11-1
MAC), and he now sits with 894 career assists, good for 13th-most in NCAA
history. Ivo Baltic added eight points and nine rebounds for the Bobcats, who
have won five straight games.
For EMU (12-14, 5-7), J.R. Sims was the only player in double figure with 12
points, but he did so on just 4-of-13 from the field. The Eagles, who shot
less than 28 percent from the floor on the night, have lost three of four.
Ohio ran out to a 17-3 lead less than nine minutes into the game and went into
halftime with a commanding 36-16 advantage.
The Bobcats' field goal efficiency dipped from 57.7 percent in the first half
to just 40.6 percent in the second half, but their lead never dipped below 17
points after the break.
Ohio outrebounded EMU, 42-35.
