University Park, PA (Sports Network) - Jermaine Marshall scored a game-high 25
points and shot 6-of-10 from 3-point range, while D.J. Newbill had 17 points
and five assists as Penn State upset No. 4 Michigan, 84-78, to pick up its
first Big Ten victory of the season after a 14-game drought.
Ross Travis registered a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds for the
Nittany Lions (9-18, 1-14 Big Ten), who had lost 18 straight conference games
dating back to last season and won for the first time since Dec. 29.
Fittingly, on Senior Night at Bryce Jordan Center, Sasa Borovnjak and Nick
Colella -- the Lions' only seniors -- had nine points apiece in the victory.
Tim Hardaway Jr. had 19 points and seven boards and Trey Burke scored 18
points while dishing out six assists for the Wolverines (23-5, 10-5), who saw
their two-game winning streak come to an end.
