Lexington, KY (Sports Network) - Ryan Harrow led five Wildcats in double-
figures with a game-high 19 points as Kentucky cruised by the Mississippi
State Bulldogs to a 85-55 victory in SEC action at Rupp Arena.
Alex Poythress was two-rebounds shy of a double-double with 16 points for the
Wildcats (20-8, 11-4 SEC). Willie Cauley-Stein chipped in 12 points and six
boards. Archie Goodwin and Julius Mays posted 11 points apiece as Kentucky
notched its third consecutive win.
For the Bulldogs (7-20, 2-13), Fred Thomas recorded a team-high 13 points and
six rebounds. Jalen Steele and Colin Borchert scored 10 points each as
Mississippi State suffered its 13th loss in a row, which is the second longest
losing streak in conference action in school history.
In the first half, Mississippi State was held to a mere 7-of-30 shooting from
the floor. Kentucky made good on 18-of-31 field goal attempts en route to a
42-19 advantage at the break.
In the second stanza, the Bulldogs were connected on 42.3 percent of their
attempts from the floor including 6-of-16 beyond the arc. The Wildcats made
51.6 percent of their shots from the floor including 5-of-12 from long-range
over the final 20 minutes to stay in front by a comfortable margin.
Kentucky controlled the boards, 42-29, and dominated points in the paint,
46-18.
