Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Derrick Millinghaus tied the game up with a
3-pointer and then knocked down the game-winner jumper as time expired to lift
the third-seeded Ole Miss Rebels to a 64-62 victory over the Missouri Tigers
in the quarterfinal round of the SEC Tournament at Bridgestone Arena.
Millinghaus finished 5-of-8 from the floor for 11 points for Ole Miss (24-8),
which also received an outstanding 27-point outing from Marshall Henderson.
The Rebels will take on Vanderbilt in the semifinals on Saturday.
Alex Oriakhi made all seven of his field goal attempts to net a team-high 16
points for the Tigers (23-10). Phil Pressey tallied 13 points and eight
assists while Earnest Ross chipped in 12 points.
Missouri looked to be in control early on as it hit on 43.3 percent of its
field goal tries en route to a 31-24 halftime lead. The Rebels shot just 33.3
percent from the floor including a 1-of-10 mark from beyond the arc in the
opening 20 minutes.
Ole Miss rallied behind a 20-point second half by Henderson as it chipped away
at the deficit. Pressey scored 11 of his points for the Tigers in the second
stanza, but his squad shot a collective 37.9 percent from the field.
Missouri held a sizeable, 47-35 edge in the rebounding battle but it let the
lead slip away despite the Rebels' poor, 11-of-20 showing at the free-throw
line.
