COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Football was represented by four Tigers on the 2014 Preseason All-Sec Team.
The All-Sec team is picked annually during the conference's media days held at the Hyatt Regency – Wynfrey Hotel. Senior DE Markus Golden (St. Louis, Mo.) was voted to the second team on defensive line to head Coach Gary Pinkel's squad.
Golden only played approximately 40 percent of the snaps last season but lead the defensive unit in tackles (55). Golden had 6.5 sacks, 13.0 tackles-for-loss, and eight QB pressures as a junior in 2013.
Junior C Evan Boehm (Lee's Summit, Mo.), junior PK Andrew Baggett (Lee's Summit, Mo.), and senior TB Marcus Murphy (DeSoto, Texas) were voted to the third team.
Boehm started all 14 games at center during the 2013 season. Mizzou's offense ranked second in the SEC and 16th nationally with rushing yards (237.9 yards per game).
Baggett had the fourth-highest single-season total point in school history last season with 120. In 2013 he hit 18 of 25 field goal attempts and 66 of 69 PATs.
Murphy, picked as a return specialist, scored 17 career touchdowns and has 3,191 career all-purpose yards.
Kick off at Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field is at 2:30p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30 vs. South Dakota.
