Burrough's golfer brings home prestigious trophy

After torrential rains forced a suspension of the first round of the MWGA Junior Championship, 58 girls finally completed their final round at WingHaven Country Club on Wednesday. Logan Otter of St. Peters, Missouri shot a first round two under 70, remarkably with six birdies on the back nine, earning medalist for the tournament. Finishing with a final round 75 for a total of 145, Logan takes home the silver trophy as 2014 Junior Champion. Logan has committed to play golf for Michigan State in 2015 but her next stop has her heading to the PGA Junior qualifiers.

Emily Goldenstein of Chesterfield, MO came in with 74-72 for a total of 146, taking second place, just falling short of the title by one shot. Sarah Bell of Jackson, MO was steady with 75-75-150 to take third. Defending Champion, Jean Tyrrell of Leawood, KS shot 74-78-152 and will play in the North South Championship in Pinehurst, N.C. There were also four flights in the 16-18 division with winners in each.

Three places were awarded in each division/flight. Leigha Kelly of O'Fallon won the 13 and under division with an 83-83-166. Anna Iorio of Joplin, MO won the 14-15 year old division with a 94-88-182.
