Lafayette wins a record sixth straight state title

Lafayette's girls volleyball team has won six straight state championships

Lafayette volleyball made a little history last week when the Lancers defeated Francis Howell to bring home the state championship, it was their sixth straight title.

The previous record for consecutive titles in girls volleyball was five by Webster Groves from 1983 through 1987.

The latest championship did not come easy for the Lancers, they lost the first game to the Vikings and fell behind in the second but rallied to even the match and then win the third and decisive game.
