Pitcher goes from the mound to the microphone with Billboard's top album

KSDK- Life is pretty good for Mike Stud these days, but the same couldn't have been said a few years ago. The Duke pitcher, and one time freshman All-American, saw his destiny of playing professionally crash before his eyes. Mike, born Michael Seander, Jr., needed Tommy John surgery and never fully recovered from his injury.

At that point he used music to deal with his nightmare. He made a song called "College Humor" as a joke for his baseball team to listen to. The rest, as they say, is history.

Two full albums and a popular mixtape later, Mike finds himself at the top of the rap world. His new album "Closer" has reached the top spot on the Billboard charts.

Katie Felts has his story.
