Japanese tsunami survivor wins gold at Sochi

SOCHI, Russia (CNN) – Yuzuru Hanyu was ice skating in the Japanese city of Sendai when the 2011 earthquake hit, forcing him to run for his life – still wearing his skates – before the ice rink collapsed.

He lived not only to tell the tale, but to win gold at the Sochi Olympics.
