Cardinals induct inaugural Hall of Fame class

ST. LOUIS – Some of the best players to ever wear a Cardinals uniform now have a permanent place in the Cardinals Hall of Fame.

Marty Marion, Mike Shannon, Jim Edmonds and Willie McGee were all inducted into the Cardinals Hall of Fame Saturday morning.

Fans voted and a panel of baseball experts help select this first class of inductees.

All four received a red jacket and a plaque that will hang in the St. Louis Cardinals Museum to celebrate their success with the organization.

The Cardinals Hall of Fame and Museum opened this past April, which is when they unveiled plaques of 22 players who have been enshrined in the National Baseball Hall of Fame or had their number retired by the organization.
