Cardinals outfielders agree to 1-year contracts

(KSDK SPORTS) – Two St. Louis Cardinals players agreed to contract terms for the upcoming season.

Outfielders Jon Jay and Peter Bourjos agreed to one-year contracts to avoid salary arbitration.

Last season, Jay had 151 hits, 67 RBI and 27 doubles and hand 40 multi-hit games. He has a .293 batting average for the past four seasons.

Bourjos came to the Cardinals from the Los Angeles Angels in a trade this past November.

Prior to June 30, he was hitting a .333, but suffered a right wrist fracture that shortened his season.

Infielder Daniel Descalso remains the sole Cardinal unsigned.
