Willie McGee leading Cardinals Hall of Fame vote

While not a surprise, Willie McGee is the leading candidate for the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame as the first ballot update was provided on Monday.

According to MLB.com, McGee has received 33.29 percent of the fan vote thus far. Voting is open through April 22nd.

The new Cardinals Hall of Fame and Museum opens on April 7th and will feature the 22 members of the inaugural class–which was decided by those former Cardinals already enshrined in the National Baseball Hall of Fame or had their numbers retired by the organization.

Fans are now encouraged to choose from the below eight nominees, with the top two v0te-getters being inducted into the Hall of Fame in a ceremony on August 16th.
