(KSDK Sports) -- One by-product of success in baseball is the inevitable poaching of talent. As expected, following the Cardinals National League Central title and World Series run, the poaching has begun. Today the Texas Rangers announced the hiring of Cardinals assistant hitting coach Bengie Molina.
For Molina, its a return to a team he last worked for in 2010 when they Rangers made their first World Series appearance in club history.
Molina's will be the club's first-base coach and also work with the catchers. Molina, one of three brothers who have caught in the major leagues, won two Gold Gloves for defensive excellence during his 13-year career.
