Blues fan says hockey saved her life

ST. LOUIS - One St. Louis Blues fan says hockey saved her life.

Cat Moore is known for prowling around Scottrade Center in wild costumes. From her deep blue colored contacts and intricate face paint to her blue and gold leg warmers, she's got a unique look that is different for every game.

But this die-hard fan's life isn't easy. She has to undergo painful treatments for a number of illnesses that have caused her to lose her hair and force her to use a cane to get to her seat.

Not long ago Moore had to quit her job and she started falling into depression. But she says the St. Louis Blues brought her out of a very dark time in her life.

"Some friends of mine took me to a live game, a Blues game," said Moore. "I was a Blues fan anyway. I got to meet Alex Steen and Keith Tkachuk afterwards and they've been stuck with me ever since."

Moore says she's drawn inspiration from the players she's met and that's given her the strength to keep fighting her illnesses and keep showing her support for the Blues.

The Blues play again on Saturday. You can watch the game at 2 p.m. on NewsChannel 5.
