Shani Davis, Julia Mancuso make medal attempts today

(KSDK) - The Sochi Winter Olympic games are underway, and we're helping you keep an eye on the ones to watch, medal contenders and record setters.

Each day, we'll give you a rundown of who's competing in what and where you can find them.

  • The biggest match-up for Wednesday could be USA vs. Canada in women's hockey. These two teams are the only two to have won the gold medal since the sports inception into the Olympics in 1998. USA has been white hot in these games after beating Switzerland and Finland. Watch live on NBC Sports Network at 6 a.m.
  • Julia Mancuso will look for her second medal in these Olympics in the women's alpine skiing downhill. She won bronze Monday in the women's super-combined. She is the silver medalist in the event from 2010 and is the most decorated American skier of Winter Olympics. Watch at 7 p.m. on NBC.
  • Shani Davis will enter his second speedskating event of these Olympics as a favorite for the men's speedskating 1000-meter medal relay. He finished 24th in the men's speedskating 500-meter relay. Davis will attempt to be the first American man to win the same event at three different Winter Olympics. Watch at 7 p.m. on NBC
  • American Kelly Clark, who is also the 2002 Olympic champion, will challenge reigning Olympic champion Torah Bright of Australia in the women's snowboarding-halfpipe. Clark also won a bronze medal in 2010. Watch at 7 p.m. on NBC
  • The USA men's curling team will try to make up ground for its first two losses with a win in its third match. Two-time Olympian John Shuster will lead the team against Denmark. USA collected its first medal in curling in 2006 but has lost to China and Norway so far in these games. Watch at 2 a.m. on NBC Sports Network
