Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - The Texas Rangers on Friday acquired
outfielder Ryan Spilborghs from the Cleveland Indians in exchange for cash
considerations.
Spilborghs has been assigned to the Rangers' Triple-A affiliate, the Round
Rock Express.
A non-roster invitee to spring training, the 32-year-old Spilborghs did not
play a game for the Indians. He batted .250 and drove in 13 runs with
Cleveland's Triple-A club in Columbus, Ohio.
Spilborghs has appeared in 619 games at the major league level, all with the
Colorado Rockies from 2005-11. He is a career .272 hitter with 42 home runs
and 218 RBI.
