Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Toronto pitcher Brandon Morrow left in the
first inning of Monday's game against the Washington Nationals after throwing
just nine pitches.
Morrow appeared to land awkwardly and immediately called for trainers in the
dugout. He pointed to his left side, in the rib cage area, and after a very
brief discussion on the mound Morrow exited.
He was replaced by Chad Beck.
Morrow had thrown his third shutout of the season in his last outing and was
7-3 with a 2.90 earned run average and 0.99 walks/hits per inning pitched in
12 starts coming into Monday's game.
