Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Houston Astros right-hander Bud Norris was
activated from the 15-day disabled list to start Friday's series opener in
Chicago against the Cubs.
Norris missed two starts with a sprained left knee. He allowed two runs over
five innings in a rehab outing for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
The 27-year-old Norris made 13 starts for the Astros this season prior to
landing on the DL, compiling a 5-4 record with a 4.81 earned run average.
Houston cleared a roster spot for Norris by optioning southpaw Xavier Cedeno
to Oklahoma City. He recorded one save and posted a 2.89 ERA in 12
appearances.
