Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Chipper Jones celebrated his eighth All-Star
berth in a big way.
Jones, who was announced as Matt Kemp's replacement in the Midsummer Classic
Tuesday, picked up his third career five-hit game and knocked in four
runs in the Braves' 10-3 win over the Chicago Cubs.
Michael Bourn delivered a bases-clearing triple in the Braves' come-from-
behind five-run fifth inning and scored three times in the second installment
of this four-game set
Jair Jurrjens (2-2) picked up the win after allowing three unearned runs on
nine hits in five innings. Jurrjens was sent to the minor leagues after
struggling in his first four starts, when he started 0-2 with a 9.37 ERA.
In three starts since being recalled on June 22, the 26-year-old right-hander
is 2-0 with a 1.49 ERA.
Chris Volstad (0-7) was in line for his first win since July 10, 2011, but he
imploded in the fifth. Volstad lasted 4 1/3 innings, allowing six runs on
seven hits and two walks. He has lost 12 straight decisions.
