New York, NY (Sports Network) - Cleveland Indians minor league pitcher Juan
Nivar was suspended 50 games by the office of the commissioner of baseball on
Monday.
Nivar received the ban after testing positive for metabolites of Boldenone, a
performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Minor League Drug
Prevention and Treatment Program.
The suspension of Nivar, who is currently on the roster of the Dominican
Summer League Indians, is effective immediately.
