(KSDK Sports) - Cardinals rookie pitcher Shelby Miller is not throwing Wednesday according to Cards manager Mike Matheny. At his morning meeting with sports journalists; Matheny announced that Miller was feeling some tightness and soreness in his throwing shoulder.
"We're going to give him a day to kind of grab some time in the training room and work on it. He's just going to get another day of rest. We're not too concerned."
Matheny said there are no plans to further examine Miller's shoulder. And that Miller's condition in no way effected his decision to start Trevor Rosenthal in Saturday's first spring game against the Miami Marlins.
Matheny's complete comments on Miller can be heard in video link at the top of this webpage.
