Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Clippers announced guard
Chris Paul underwent successful surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right
thumb Tuesday.
Paul, who injured the thumb last month during Team USA training camp in Las
Vegas, Nev., is expected to be sidelined for approximately eight weeks, at
which time he is projected to resume all basketball related activities
including full contact.
The All-Star averaged 19.8 points and 9.1 assists in 60 games in his first
season with the Clippers last year.
Despite the thumb injury, Paul started all eight games and averaged 8.3
points, 5.1 assists and a tournament-high 2.5 steals to help lead Team USA to
a gold medal in London.
