Former Rams OL Bell retires

Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - Cincinnati Bengals offensive lineman Jacob Bell was placed on the reserve/retired list on Wednesday.

He retired from the NFL before playing one snap for the Bengals, who signed him back on April 12.

Bell would have been entering his ninth season this year. He spent the previous four seasons with the St. Louis Rams and started 12 games for the team last season.

He broke into the NFL in 2004 with the Tennessee Titans, who selected him out of the University of Miami-Ohio in the fifth round of the 2004 draft.

He played in 109 games over his career with 100 starts.
