Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Following two surgeries on his injured right
knee, Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt had a procedure on his left
knee after experiencing swelling, according to a report.
Britt had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee following the team's minicamp
at the end of June, The Tennessean reported Tuesday, citing sources familiar
with the situation.
The Titans still hope the receiver will be ready for the regular season opener
Sept. 9 against New England, the paper said.
Britt led the AFC with 271 receiving yards going into Week 3, when he tore the
ACL and MCL in his right knee turning upfield after a catch.
His most recent surgery on that knee came in May, a clean-up procedure the
Titans said was "commonplace" with knee injuries.
Britt, despite numerous run-ins with the law since he was taken in the first
round of the 2009 draft, has 101 catches for 1,765 yards and 15 touchdowns in
31 games for the Titans.
