New York, NY (Sports Network) - Washington Redskins rookie running back Alfred
Morris, New York Giants safety Stevie Brown and Minnesota Vikings rookie
kicker Blair Walsh have been named the NFC's top performers for the final week
of the regular season.
Morris received the offensive honor after rushing for a career-high 200 yards
and three touchdowns in a 28-18 win over Dallas that clinched the Redskins'
first NFC East title since 1999.
The 2012 sixth-round selection finished the regular season with 1,613 yards on
the ground, breaking Clinton Portis' single-season team record.
Brown became the first safety in franchise history to be honored defensively
twice in a career after recording six tackles and an interception that set up
the Giants' first touchdown in a 42-7 thrashing of Philadelphia. He also
picked up the award in Week 8 this season.
Walsh earned his third special teams award of the season after kicking three
field goals, including a game-winning 29-yarder as time expired, in the
Vikings' playoff-clinching 37-34 victory over Green Bay.
