Ambush move closer to .500 with big win

(KSDK Sports) -- Trailing 12-11 going into the final minute of the game, the St. Louis Ambush snatched victory from the jaws of defeat thanks to Kory Dowell's three-point goal, to defeat the Rochester Lancers before 4,398 screaming fans at the Family Arena Saturday afternoon. The victory improved St. Louis' record to 4-6 and dropped Rochester to 3-7.

St. Louis defender Chad Vandegriffe put the Ambush on the board when he took a long pass from goalkeeper Jeff Richey and buried a shot in the goal from beyond the three-point arc at the 2:49 mark. Rochester forward Doug Miller answered at 8:02 with an unassisted tally to make the score 3-2 in favor of St. Louis. The Lancers took a 4-2 lead when defender Stephen Basso scored the last goal of the quarter at 10:50.
