St. Louis hosting U.S. chess championships

ST. LOUIS - Twenty-four of the best chess players in the country have come to St. Louis.

St. Louis used to be known for just being a great soccer town. We have become a great baseball town. However, chess is hot in St. Louis.

Rex and Jeane Sinquefield are lovers of the sport and arrange for these championships to be held in the Central West End.
