Rams tour Scott Air Force Base

KSDK -- The Rams saw a differently type of training Thursday: an up close look at Scott Air Force Base

"They were explaining it to us I was like wow this is what goes on in the Air Force kinda makes you think for a minute," said first-round draft pick Jason Smith.

The tour offered a different perspective on like in the NFL.

"Makes you realize how fortunate you are to be playing a sport that you love. To wake up say you got to work and its just playing football," said linebacker James Laurinaitis.

The players were given a tour of the base and in return they put on a camp for the Junior ROTC.

"I think it'll bring a lot of us back to our roots playing football before all the TVs before the money and all that stuff," Laurinaitis said.

"This is something like once in a lifetime, this is something that don't come around it's not even like Christmas. Christmas you can look forward to, this is something that's like a surprise," said Junior ROTC member Terrell Prater.

And the Rams take something away from it as well.

"You just feel goo it's not like jumping up and down good but just real good down in your sole," said linebacker Chris Draft.
